At the end of this month’s column is a new feature called LOCAL MUSIC JUKEBOX that provides links to music releases by various local LI artists. This month we shine the spotlight on Dave Diamond, Linda Susman, Travis McKeveney, Mary Lamont, Russ Seeger, Rorie Kelly and Mark Newman. Long Island progressive funk trio Baked Shrimp will celebrate the release of their 2nd studio album Conscious, at the Barnum Ballroom in Island Park, NY on April 3rd! The evening will feature two sets of live music from Baked Shrimp with a special guest horn section alongside Nick and Mike Rufolo from The Brothers Nylon. Included in the reservation price will be complementary selections of pizzas and appetizers for each table and TWO sets of live music. The venue will be capped at 25% capacity and all COVID-19 protocols will be followed. Masks will be required for entry and when not seated. Reservations can be purchased in parties of 2, 4, 6, or 10. There is a very limited number of tables available for each of these options so talk with your party now to find out how many will be attending. Please arrive with your ticket holder. Seating is first come first served. Reservations are on-sale now for $25.

RULE #1: No guest list.

Everyone in the live music industry
has been out of work for 13 months
and we all need your support now more than ever.
Buy the damn ticket.
RULE #2: Support local.
Before you buy that high priced ticket
to see that big name artist at that big corporate venue,
consider putting that money back into your own community.
This is the best way to ensure that
a thriving arts & culture scene
will return to cities across America.
RULE #3: Wear a mask!
If you’re going to a show, tiny cloth go over mouth & nose.
Period.
Vaccinated? Don’t care.
Already had it? Don’t care.
We only get one shot at restarting this machine. .
RULE #4: We are not babysitters.
We get it. Social distancing sucks.
Masks suck. You’re tired of washing your hands.
It’s been 13 months.
You know the rules by now
