How to Convert Beyonwiz (tvwiz) Files to Another Format

Beyonwiz makes excellent PVRs that have a lot of flexibility. One of the main issues with it though is that while it can copy recordings to your computer, it does so in a proprietary .tvwiz format. This article explains how you can convert these files to play on your iPod or burn to DVD.

There seems to be a small issue with Beyowiz’s PVRs. When you transfer the recording to a computer, it’s in a proprietary format called .tvwiz that you can’t play in anything. After much research I found a solution and although I will show everyone that other people with the same problem can easily solve it.

First, you need to download a program called Add-Remove .ts. This combines the multitude of files you will find when you transfer the recording into a single .ts file. It’s incredibly easy to use and serves just that purpose, which it does well, but it takes time. My movie took about 2.5 hours to combine into one file.

After doing this, you can either play the recording immediately with VLC player or convert it to an easier-to-play file format so you can burn it to DVD or transfer it to your iPod with WinFF. It can convert almost any video file to any format you want. Just hit the Add button and use the drop-downs to select the format and away you go. Now you can enjoy your Beyonwiz recordings anywhere!
