LG BD370 Blu-Ray Player Review
LG was one of the first Blu-ray player manufacturers to realize the importance of online streaming. They introduce the concept in their release of the BD300 Blu-ray Player with Netflix streaming. With the entry-level BD370, they’ve gone a step further, offering more streaming media services and internal audio decoding for DTS-HD Master Audio Essential and faster load times.
The BD370 has a unique design with a glossy black front panel. The player’s front is dominated by a silver square in the middle. The Open/Close and Play buttons are on this square, while the power button is the circle in the center of the square. Although there are some minor flaws in getting the aspect ratio correct for some SD content, the overall experience with BD370 online streaming is very good. Although slightly lacking in video quality, the BD370’s images are still very good. Many would even struggle to tell the difference from other entry-level Blu-ray players. What the BD370 has are very powerful features that are easy to use and you get them for a very reasonable price.
ADVANTAGES: The LG BD370 is a very good entry-level Blu-ray player. This is the 2.0 profile, so it supports all your BD-Live content. It has NetCast Entertainment Access, which lets you get online streaming services like Netfilx, YouTube, and CinemaNow. Internal audio decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio Essential should satisfy almost anyone’s HD audio needs. The BD370’s load times are relatively fast compared to most Blu-ray players.
CONS: Image quality is lower than most entry-level players. There is no internal memory for the scene nor any Wi-Fi option.
