Gaming Istanbul 2020 closes its gates

Many visitors from all over the world joined high-tier industry legends and local Turkish studios and publishers for yet another successful trade fair

GIST 2020, the largest international Gaming and eSports event in Turkey and the MENA region, cemented its place in the heart of the gaming industry once again.

The Old City of Istanbul was once again enchanted by the busy buzz of industry professionals and gamers, eager to learn about the Turkish and MENA market. From January 30th to February 2nd Gaming Istanbul hosted some of the world’s most beloved gaming brands, from Taleworlds with their hit game Mount & Blade II Bannerlord to Funcom, Unreal Engine and local industry stars Gram Games.

The GIST|DC Developers Conference enabled more meetings than ever before, generating business for local developers, as well as facilitating export and localization to countries across the globe. Their impressive speaker line-up, which was made possible by their partnership with Turkish University Game Developers (UNOG) impressed gamers and professionals alike.

“GIST is a potent platform for the games industry across MENA and beyond. As the region’s most successful event, it has proven to make a constantly growing audience aware of established gaming franchises, as well as yet undiscovered gems,” said Cevher Eryürek, Director GIST at GL Events. “GIST has much to offer to consumers, business leaders, developers and brands looking to communicate directly with their audience, and as we continue to see strong growth in both exhibition and networking, we’re focused on ensuring GIST keeps growing.”

GIST Gaming Istanbul and GIST|DC debuted in February 2016. Its 2020 edition once again placed GIST as a central global event in the videogames industry.
