PYF assures support for Ibarapa APC. Debunks sponsored media against candidates.

The Progressive Youth Forum (PYF) ibarapa chapter has thrown its weight behind the All Progressive Congress and its leadership in Oyo state over the ongoing Reconciliation meetings ongoing across the state. This was contained in a press release by the forum shortly after the reconciliation meeting held in igboora, ibarapa central local government area of Oyo state.

After listening to the aggrieved members agitations, the committee led by senator Olufemi Lanlehin thanked the Party faithfuls for their commitment and courage to remain open to reconciliation after various issues generated by the congresses and primaries of the party. He promised them that the party will do everything possible to address their grievances as soon as possible.

According to Lanlehin, the APC can’t risk continuous ruling of the PDP in the state, and more importantly to work for the success of the APC’s victory across the entire country. ” We need to do all within our best to reclaim the leadership from the PDP Oyo state. And, to achieve this, we implore genuine reconciliation. That is why we are here today. We will deliver your agitations to the party in the state, and your interests will be catered for very soon”.

Members of the Committee at the session included the party’s State Secretary who also doubles as the Committee Secretary, Alh Tajudeen Olanite, Chief Kehinde Balogun, Pastor Wale Adepoju, Pa E.O. Olaoye, Alh. Akin Akande, Dr (Mrs.) Adepeju Esan, Comrade Ibrahim Bolomope and Hon. Wahab Oguntayo.Chief Lanre Oke, Pastor Akin Oke, Pa Suara Ogunyemi, Alh Kareem Adebayo, Alh Ayinla Kakako, Hon. Gaphar Ojetola, Engr. Dayo Lawal, Alh Bukola Badmus and Chief Sunday Adewale Abeebo were also present.

Aspirants in attendance were Hon. Gbemileke Olawore, Hon. Tokunbo Toriola, Hon. Ganiyu Samuel, Hon. Jacob Akintola, Hon. Mukaila Oyerinde, Hon. Kolawole Olusegun and Hon. Sola Makinde.

Leader of the party in the zone, Chief T.A. Jolaoso in his opening remarks welcomed the Committee, wished it fruitful deliberations and relayed the apologies forwarded by two stalwarts of the party, Alh Fatai Ibikunle and Dr. Adebayo Adewusi, both of whom were unavoidably absent.

Reacting to a media publication that the aspirants demanded for a fresh primaries in the zone, the PYF expresses disappointment in the Peoples Conscience Newspaper for publishing such to news caption in order to distract the attention of the public from what exactly happened at the meeting. According to the PYF, there was nothing like demand for a fresh primaries from any of the aspirants. All that was mentioned has been taken note by the reconciliation committee, and as you have heard it the committee is capable of doing the best thing to address the situation.

“It is not the responsibility of anyone to refund an aspirant, since it has been stated earlier that nomination forms fees are non refundable”. However, the party (through the reconciliation committee) has promised to look into what can be done to compensate the aspirants that do not emerge through the primary elections.

On purported accusations against some leaders of the party, the PYF also want the public to know that democracy allows freedoms and rights of individuals. One of such is the freedom of expression, which the aggrieved members had just manifested. Nevertheless, it is the internal affairs of the party to identify these grievances and work out modalities for reconciliation. “We don’t expect the peoples conscience newspaper to go to the extent of seeking unnecessary attention and promoting political elements causing public distractions. We will address our issues in-house”.

The reconciliation train continues across the constituencies and will be rounding up after it might have reached out to all accessible aggrieved members in the APC. This is the mandate ahead of the committee, and for the party to rescue the state from misrule of PDP led Seyi Makinde’s government.
