Traditional rulers in Ibarapa central local government had issued serious warnings on one of the prominent politician in the local government Dr Bayo Adepoju popularly known as Ibarapa kan, and Hon. Doyin Adeoye ( chairman ibarapa central local government) to stop engaging in acts that is culpable of ridiculing the traditional institution in the region. The warnings were issued on two different occasions. One was on the installation day of Iyalode of Iberekodo land where Bayo Adepoju and his allies attempted to leave the venue of the installation, when His Royal Majesty Oluaso of Iberekodoland Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badums (JP, JP) asked them to go back to their seats until the program ends. Bayo was said to have felt so hurt by the reaction of the king, but he has no option than to comply. This is necessary for someone who is struggling to fit his leg on political clime of the state in recent times.

In another event, which happened to be an installation ceremony held at the Olu of Igboora palace square, Oja oba, Igboora. The chairman of the local government Hon. Doyin Adeoye was asked to made a speech, but choose to rather directed the traditional rulers and the people at the event to go and get their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and to make sure they vote for Ibarapa kan in 2023 election. In swift reaction to this, the Onidere of Idereland HRM Oba Onikola asked him to stop preaching politics anywhere they ( traditional rulers) are holding their official programs. ” You should come back to take the microphone and apologize to us. I heard this is not the first time you’re doing this”. Onidere fumes further, mr chairman ” Has Bayo Adepoju told us he is contesting in 2023? Do you think you can just force your political decisions on us anyhow and anywhere? ” You better stop ridiculing our prestigious offices if you don’t want us to be angry with you”. The king asked the MC to give the microphone to the chairman to come out for apology. Instead of going straight to apologize, Doyin was busy blabbing around the corridor feeling the heat of the second public embarrassment he bought for himself within difference of weeks.

The day went sob for the controversial local government chairman and his blood brother who is also his political godfather- Ibarapa kan. They left the venue on a low key, moments after the traditional ruler passed the warning message across to them. If Doyin and bayo Adepoju will have to do something better in this part of Oyo state, they are expected to eschew politics of arrogance, disorderliness and disregard for the delegated authority. Otherwise, they may be edging towards a fun fare termination of a game that is yet to even commence.
