As we were coming up to the anniversary of Carrie Fisher’s sad passing a year ago, I didn’t want to let the moment pass without marking it here.
And what better way to do so than to just have half an hour or so of Carrie herself talking? This interview footage from 1994 on the Charlie Rose programme shows Carrie at her very best as an effortless conversationalist.
There’s hardly anyone I can think of today in the field of ‘celebrity’ or film stardom who had as much effortless personality or wit as Carrie Fisher did.
And this is one of the most endearing and entertaining Carrie Fisher interviews I’ve seen, as she casually and masterfully owns her own interview with a force of personality that the interviewer has probably encountered only very rarely.
For anyone who’s never seen her 2016 Star Wars Celebration panel with Warwick Davis either, here is is. It’s very funny.
My original article from when Carrie Fisher passed away is here.
