If you’ve seen Star Wars and are thrilled with the vehicle of choice, let us tell you, dear reader, that this sci-fi fantasy has come true. Known as the Xturismo, the world’s first flying bike has made its debut at the Detroit auto show, and riders as well as viewers are left feeling surreal. Developed by Aerwins Technologies, a Japanese startup, this hoverbike blurs the line separating dreams from reality and, for most of us, will offer an experience we thought improbable during our lifetime.
Xturismo flies over the ground using multiple propellers – two in the front which provide lift, and four at the rear which ensure stability. The hoverbike is powered by an internal combustion engine along with a battery. It weighs 300kgs and is approximately 12 feet long! World’s first flying bike can fly up to 40minutes at a speed of 100 km/h! Though this device does not look like a traditional motorbike, none can deny that it takes on the appearance of something majestic and futuristic.

If you’re thinking of getting your hands on this sci-fi beast, know that it is already on sale in Japan! Here, you won’t need a piloting license to ride the bike, because the country does not consider it an aircraft. With its US debut, the bike has been priced at $777,000. But do not fret, for the company is thinking of rolling out a smaller electric hoverbike for merely $50,000 by 2025!
