A German Artist with an Instagram handle named wolfgang_stiller is opening up the idea of accepting a matchstick as beautiful art. Actually, the look of a half-burnt matchstick to be precise. Along with being a talented artist, he is also into sculpting, installations, and drawings, the testimony of which can be clearly seen on his Instagram page with various posts of his art projects.
The one that takes the most space and is most unique is the art pieces that are inspired by a burnt matchstick with a twist of their own. These are basically ‘Matchstick Men’, made out of Timber, foam and painted with acrylic paints. These art pieces basically look like a replica of a matchstick but much bigger than the usual, the head of the burned matchstick is made to look like a real human head. The artist is well-known in the world of art and his work has made space and name for itself in museums and public collections in Germany and the Netherlands. According to the artist, these matchstick men are somewhat closely linked to burned-out or worn-out human beings, however, he is still pretty open to creative interpretation of his art by others as well.
