Sea Of Stars Is All I Need – Not Being Dreamy, It’s A Literal Place

I love lying down under the stars, thinking, noticing but more importantly just being there, in the moment absorbing the scenic beauty and the aesthetic pleasure it brings. I am sure you know that feeling and if you don’t, please experience it, it is enthralling. If lying under the stars is so serene, imagine being in a sea of stars.

The sea of stars is located in the Maldives and is a natural wonder. It is a unique Phenomenon of sparkling waters due to Bioluminescent Phytoplankton. There are various reasons behind the occurrence of this phenomenon such as yearly climatic changes and plankton growth (which is bioluminescence in nature). It is an unpredictable event and you can’t anticipate when it might show.

Sea Of Stars And Where To Find Them

Vaadhoo Island, Raa Atoll is the most known point for observing the phenomenon but it is not the only spot. There are 1200 different islands from where the view is crystal clear.

How Is It Caused?

Bioluminescent phytoplankton known as Lingulodinium Polyedrum creates the effect that facilities us to perceive the sea of stars. Animals such as krill, squids, angelfish also produce light through the same process.

It is open 24 hours and simply adds more to the beauty of Maldives.
