How To Organise A Garden Party

Spring is great time to organise a beautiful and refreshing outdoor garden Party. And if you have a special occasion coming up, it’s even better. If you are lucky enough to have a beautiful garden or a patio, then just invite your friends over and have a great time outdoors. Organising a garden party might seem like a daunting task with a number of backyard party ideas available everywhere. So, here are some tips to make it easy and fun for you.

Choose The Perfect Furniture

If you already don’t have enough outdoor seating, you can invest in some beautiful Vintage Garden Furniture. If you are not planning on spending too much money, then you can always get some on rent. Vintage garden furniture works really well with an outdoor theme. You should choose furniture that matches your garden’s colour scheme. Make sure you have enough seating available for all your guests. Create a seating chart and place the seats accordingly. You can also add a theme to your party decorations.

Get Some Shade

Be sure to install a canopy. Since it’s spring already and summer is approaching fast, it will definitely get a little too sunny. A light shade or white canopy with breezy sheer curtains will not only provide for shade, but will also look beautiful. You can decorate the canopy as well, but don’t make it look like a wedding party, well, unless there’s a wedding! Make sure to add some lights if your party will go beyond sunset.

Plan For Food

Since it’s a garden party, it’s always better to keep the menu simple. If you have the budget, then hire a caterer. Otherwise, you can also organize an outdoor barbeque and grill with some drinks. To add more fun, you can ask your friends and guests to bring a dish each for a potluck.

Entertainment

Any party needs good entertainment. You can’t just expect all the guests to be chatty throughout the party, right? Organise some games for your guests. Card games are easy and fun for everyone. If your guests have kids then you should also include games for them as well. Music is a must. Save the cost of a DJ and create your own playlist for the party. Use your iPod to set the party mood.

Contingency Plan

One thing I have learnt from organising all my parties, is to always have a contingency plan! Keep a makeshift indoor area ready just in case the weather decides to be sorry. Also, have extra seating, decorations and plates ready, just in case any of your guests decide to bring a plus one. Keep a caterer or food delivery service number handy. If you need some extra food you can always get it delivered.
