10 Best Shows On Netflix You Should Watch In 2018

You might have seen a number of Netflix original Series and wondering what to watch next. Netflix has been producing and marketing a lot of their original content. With the list increasing by the day, it can be a rather daunting task to select a series to watch. If you are still trying to decide what to watch on Netflix, here’s a list of 10 good shows on Netflix that are worth your time:

  1. 1 Stranger Things


    If you haven’t yet watched this , then it should be on the top of your priority list. Created by the Duffer brothers, the series is an homage to the pop culture of the 1980’s. The direction is aesthetically inspired by the works of John Carpenter, Steven Spielberg and Stephen King. Based in the fictional town of Hawkins, the first season revolves around the disappearance of a young boy named Will. The disappearance takes place amidst some supernatural experiences occurring around the town. A girl with psychokinetic abilities appears and helps Will’s goony and dorky friends look for him in a Poltergeist type world. The second season takes place a year after the first season, and show the attempts of the characters to live a normal life while dealing with the consequences of the first season. It is an interesting Horror/sci fi with a retro feel.

  2. 2 13 Reasons Why


    A 17 year old commits suicide and leaves back a series of tapes for her friends telling them why. The series is based on the book ‘Thirteen Reasons Why’. It traces the life of Clay Jensen who listens to the tapes sent to him. The tapes are recorded by Hannah Baker who, unable to cope with rumors and gossip about her, ends her life. She tries to get support from friends, who fail to live up to her expectations. Thus mentioning everything that led to her taking that decision. The series is an important peek onto the everyday bullying that exists in high schools. The second season revolves around the case of Hannah Baker vs Liberty High school. Hannah’s mother pursues the case to get justice for her daughter.

  3. 3 Godless


    Godless is based in a small town of La Belle in new Mexico. After a calamitous mining incident, the town is left with an almost all women and children population. Only Deputy Whitey Winn and Marshall Bill McNue are left behind to maintain peace in the town. Complications arise when Roy Goode turns at the ranch with Alice Fletcher. Trouble arises when Roy’s previous gang decides to hunt him down and also punish the person who is giving him refuge. 

    Starring Michelle Dockery and Jeff Daniels, Godless has a talented cast. Scott Frank does a great job with the story and script, keeping the plot interesting. It’s one of the best western miniseries that you would want to binge watch. So add this to your binge watch list for the weekend.

  4. 4 Mindhunter


    It is the most underrated crime dramas on Netflix. The story is about two FBI agents Bill Tench (Hold McCallany) and Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff), who have been in the back room and are now interviewing serial killers across the United States and recording their responses. Eventually, Wendy Carr played by Ann Torv, a Boston University psychology professor, joins them. He helps them in developing a system that would aid in categorizing the killers and also predict their behavior. The psychology of crime is changing as now it is no more just about greed or need. It is now about irrational. The series explores the criminal mind through a deeper psycho analysis.


    The series is based on the non fiction book by former FBI agents John Dougles; Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Killer Unit. It is produced and partially directed by David Fincher of The Social Network and Zodiac fame. The writing and dialogues are natural and bring out the reality of crime investigation.

  5. 5 Ozark


    Ozark is a thrilling crime drama. Marty Byrde is a Chicago based financial planner, who also launders money for a drug cartel in Mexico. Things change when a money laundering arrangement goes wrong, and now he has to make amends by setting up a bigger money laundering scheme for the Mexican cartel in Ozark. He then suddenly moves his family from Chicago to a suburb in Missouri to protect his family. 

    Ozark has a gripping storyline and is an intense watch which keeps you at the edge of your seat. Jason Bateman, Laura Linney and Julia garner have done a fabulous job. The season 2 is also here.

  6. 6 The Crown


    The crown is a historical drama that revolves around a 25 year old Queen Elizabeth 2. Newly married she now has to rule the world’s most well known monarchy and build a relationship with Sir Winston Churchill, the Prime Minister. It is that time of history when the rule of British empire is declining and the there is a political disorder. The series reveals the private journey of the of the young Queen who faces the changes withaudacious openness. It brings alive the world inside the Buckinghum Palace and Westminister Abbey .


    Created by Peter Morgan, The Crown is one of the most exquisite and expensive productions of Netflix. So watch for the royal feel. Also, the season 3 is coming in 2019, so watch the other 2 seasons before that.

  7. 7 Daredevil


    This one is for the marvel fans. Matt Murdock is blinded after a freak accident during his childhood. This gives him some super human powers that enable him to see the world in a different way. He fights injustice in the day as a lawyer and at nigh as the vigilante, Daredevil in the streets of Hell’s Kitchen, in New York city. The series has incredible story telling with a realistic character build up. The action scenes are very realistic and fierce for a Marvel fan. A must watch for all comic fans. Also, Season 3 is about to premiere on October 2019.

  8. 8 BoJack Horseman


    BoJack Horseman is an animated series for the adult audience. Bojack Horseman was once the star of a 90’s sitcom. And now he is in Hollywood hoping to relaunch his career. He complains about everything around him. The show has an interesting storyline interspersed with humor and drama. Will Arnett, Amy Sedars , Kristen Schaaf and Aaron Paul do a great job in lending their voices to the characters.

  9. 9 American Vandal


    It’s a crime satire based on a true incident. It explores the aftermath of a high school prank which results in the expulsion of Dylan Maxwell. The prank leaves 27 faculty cars vandalized with some phallic images. The series documents the investigation led by Peter Maldanaldo. He investigates whether the student has been wrongly punished for the crimes he did not commit. It relates with high school life and how the student faces severe consequences like expulsion and losing his scholarship. Also Season 2 has just been launched on Netflix.

  10. 10 Glow


    Glow is the story of the women of the 80’s . A number of women who don’t fit into the realms of society come together to form a group of wrestling women. One of them is Ruth Wilder who doesn’t fit into the definition of an actress. She is out of work and joins the spandex-clad women’s wrestling team. Sam Sylvia is a B movie director who tries to lead these women to fame. The plot is engaging with various sub plots that reveals the lives of all the other characters.
