She is one of those celebrities who face extreme adulation and experienced the worst when she went through the infamous public meltdown in 2007.

Who is Britney Spears?

Well, if you are someone who is in the know the world music scenario, you wouldn’t ask this question. She is a popular pop artist and has seen it all in her lie span. She was born on December 2, 1981, in Macomb, Mississippi. Starring in the All-New Mickey Mouse Club at an young age of just 11, she began her career as a pop singer and performer in 1998.

The first album that came up was “…Baby One More Time” that was released in 1998 as a single. She followed it up massive hits in the form of albums like Oops!… I Did It Again and Britney. Then the year 2007 saw her succumbing to the anxiety and mental disorders of some sort.

However, she was capable of rebounding back with a huge success in the form of Femme fatale in the year 2011.

The Early Life

She was born in 1981 and the second child for Lynne Irene Bridges and James Parnell Spears. She began attending the dance lessons at the age of three. She could get herself selected as the solo artist in the annual recital. The first local stage appearance was made at the age of five.

The Billboard Music Awards in 1999 found her winning four awards. She released the album Oops!… I Did It Again in 2000. Marriage and later life

In 2004, she got married to childhood friend Jason Alexander, but it lasted only two days. Later on, she got involved with backup dancer Kevin Federline and it was with that her personal life began getting more press coverage.

Both of them got married on September 18, 2004. She welcomed her first child in 2005. The second child was born in September 2006. Surprisingly enough, she filed for divorce just two months later for ‘irreconcilable differences”.

It was the beginning of her stress and turmoil. She was reported to have mental disorders and went through the party scene. She even went on to shave her head off in 2007. She later spent a few months at a treatment center in California. There were issues of custodial battle with Federline. However, despite all this, she released her next album Blackout. The public meltdown at the MTV Video Music Awards was disastrous enough and indicated her mental disorders.

There was yet another breakdown in 2008 where she was taken to a hospital for the treatment of psychiatric evaluation. Ultimately, the custody of their children went to Federline. There were reports that she suffered from bipolar disorder, while mother hinted to the fact she had postpartum depression.

The Later Years

Despite the turmoil and personal setbacks, she came with yet another success in terms of professional life through her role in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother. She then came up with the album Circus in 2008. The singles “Circus” and “If U Seek Amy” from the album went on to earn the places in the Billboard Top 10 Top 20.

The year 2011 came up with Femme Fatale album that featured tracks like “I Wanna Go” and “Till The World Ends.”She was going through a good time personally as well. She got engaged to her boyfriend Jason Trawick in 2011, but of course, they split later on in 2013.

Will she make a comeback?

She is still going through a huge turmoil. She is much dependent emotionally on her father, Jamie Spears. When he fell ill in 2018, she was yet again in a deep depression. He has been hospitalised for a ruptured colon and has not been doing well despite two surgeries.

This has definitely taken a toll on Britney Spears and she was reportedly admitted to a mental health and wellness treatment center in April 2019. She is not being treated for any specific issues this time. However, she needs rest and that is precisely what she is reported to doing now.

With a powerful career spanning over two decades Britney has been through a dual life. While she has been a great performer and singer, the personal turmoil is still visible. However, despite her breakdowns time and again, she has been able to build her career.
