Although Soman had an engineering degree, he did not see himself earning money. He turned to modeling in 1988. Soman appeared in Alisha Chinai's video, Made in India (1995). In the mid-1990s, after working as a model, he took the lead role in the Indian science fiction television series Captain Vyom. He then focused on films from 2000. The Soman films include the 16th of December, Pachaikili Muthucharam, Paiyaa, Agni Varsha and Rules: Pyaar Ka Superhit Formula. In 2007, he appeared in Bhram, Say Salaam India and Bheja Fry.
In 2009, he starred in Gandhi's Marathi Film by Sachin Kundalkar. Soman played in Jodi Breakers in 2012, which did not work well at the box office.On May 20, 2012, he became the holder of Limca Records for traveling 1,500 km in 30 days for Greenathon, NDTV, to raise public awareness of the environment. Milind is an avid and a very strong sportsman. He has been a swimmer of international level. He began to represent Maharashtra at the age of 10 in different age groups before representing his state at senior level where he held the title of national swimming champion for four consecutive years (1984- 87) before abandoning competitive swimming in 1988. Soman represented India in swimming at the inaugural South Asian Gamesin 1984 in Kathmandu where he won a silver medal. |
