After the huge success of the Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt starrer Sadak, Mahesh Bhatt is gearing up to direct Sadak 2. Mahesh Bhatt will be back on the director’s chair after almost 19 years! The last film he directed was Kartoos in 1999 starring Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala.

While Sadak had his older daughter Pooja Bhatt as the female lead, Sadak 2 will have Alia Bhatt play the female lead along with Aditya Roy Kapur who will play the male lead, but what is special about Sadak 2 is that both Pooja and Sanjay will be a part of it and this will also be the first time that Mahesh will be directing his daughter Alia. That’s not all, the two sisters Pooja and Alia will be sharing screen space for the first time too!

Sadak was the story of a taxi driver who tries to rescue the girl he loves from a brothel. Mahesh’s wife and Alia’s mother Soni Razdan was also a part of Sadak. The makers have not yet announced whether she will be a part of Sadak 2 too. Though It would be interesting to see all the Bhatts together in a movie.

Sadak 2 will release in 2020, almost 29 years after Sadak which released in 1991. Mahesh Bhatt announced about Sadak 2 on social media on his 70th birthday and he says that the film is about living, loving and dealing with the anguish of the loss of a loved one.

Alia too took to Instagram and said, “Dear Daddy, On your 70th Birthday you have given me the greatest present I could ask and dream for. You are directing me! Sadak 2 is a dream come true.. What I thought will never be possible you have made possible. Thank you daddy from the bottom of my heart, soul and bones. This will be a journey of discovery.. Of life, movies, feeling and most of all.. Of a father and daughter. I love you my not-so-old man! Happy Birthday ”

This is going to be one film to watch out for!
