Ever Wondered About Traditional Cuisines In India?

India has a wide variety of traditional and regional Cuisines. It shows over 8000years of history. The cuisines are diverse regionally because of a different kind of agriculture. Every area like north and south has such a huge difference in soil, climate, environment, etc. so their farming is. They use to grow different vegetables, fruits, and grains across India. Different kind of usage of spices makes their food changes in appearance and taste.

Religions and Foreign Influences on Indian food:

In most places, food has become an identity of religion and society. For instance, in north India people eat more bread while in southern India they prefer to eat rice. The Hindu population doesn’t eat non-vegetarian food (meat, chicken, fish, etc.). They are vegetarian while some of them eat eggs too.

Some parts of farming vegetables have introduced by Arab and Portuguese traders during the sixteenth century such as chili pepper, potatoes, etc. Indian cuisines have also enjoyed by across the world especially in South East Asia. It is one of the most famous cuisines in the world. Now India is evolved in large scale cultural interactions with ancient Greece, West Asia, etc.

In India, every occasion requires a feast. There are so many biggest festivals in India and they vary from different religions to the region. The Hindu’s biggest festivals are Diwali and Holi. Diwali is a festival of lights and cheers on this occasion sweet are necessary for cuisines. Holi is a festival of color that comes in the starting of spring and on this Gujhia (a sweet), matthi (a namkeenand bhang (a yogurt drink mixed with dry fruits) are there.

The Mughal’s biggest occasion is Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha. Sheer and sainwaiyan are the special sweet dishes which get prepared on Eid­-ul-Fitr (an occasion which gets celebrated in the happiness of the end of Ramadan). Eid-ul-Adha comes after 2 months and 6 days approximately of Eid-ul-Fitr. On this occasion, a special dish is cooked of meat.
