Congress President Rahul Gandhi will now contest in Lok Sabkha Election 2019 from the Congress traditional Amethi Seat. UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi from the Rai Barelli, according to the first list of candidates that was already released on Thursday.

The list of candidates includes four candidates from Gujarat and 11 from Uttar Pradesh. The list of 15 candidates also includes young faces. This is quite interesting that the first list of candidates does not include Priyanka Gandhi’s name, who recently made her political debut.

Priyanka Gandhi has been appointed as the AICC General Secretary for Uttar Pradesh. Rae Bareli and Amethi are the only constituencies that Congress had won in 2014 Elections (Lok Sabha). Moreover, former ministers Salman Khurshid, Jitin Prasad, and RPN Singh also included in the first list of candidates from seats in Uttar Pradesh for the upcoming elections. Whereas Salman Khurshid will contest from Farrukabad, Jitin Prasad from Dhaurahra and RPN Singh from Khushi Nagar.
