5 resolutions every student must make

It’s a new year, a new time to make new plans to do better than you did last year.

It’s 2018 and your Academic Pursuit deserves to get better commitment if you want to graduate with the fine degree you desire.

As a Student, you shouldn’t like to repeat the mistakes you made in 2017. Those mistakes that got you the EFCC kind of grades which threatened your Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) with relegation.

I am sure you don’t want that to happen to your hard earned CGPA and this is why you need to make a new year resolution that will guide your academic pursuit in 2018.

Pulse students will like to help with the kind of new year resolution every student-those with strong and not very strong CGPA- should make to get better with their studies.

Stop Procrastinating

One thing some of us do without thinking about its consequence is procrastination. We delay assignments, project and other school work thinking it will cost us no time to do it.

You push it aside and before you know it, time for submission is around the corner, you, therefore, do the work haphazardly just to have something to submit. You need to stop this in 2018 by finishing your work earlier than any other student and that makes you to STAY AHEAD of others.

Commit yourself to getting good grades

Last semester, you had some unhandsome grades because you were not genuinely committed to making As in your courses or subjects. You are on the verge of graduate and you need to put more effort to graduate as a fine student.

Whether your grade is strong or weak, you need to have a plan to make it better than it was last year. Develop a study plan, have more time for your studies and do not underestimate any course or subject.

Learn something new

Improving your knowledge base should be a priority this year. Learning a new skill, language or even a sport this year will add value to your profile.

You might need to hit Youtube to learn some of this new skill or partner with a class or course mate who already have some skill set you admire. For instance, photography is one skill a lot of students now make cash from . You too can do it. You can learn something new this year.

Stop doubting your abilities

Self-doubt is destructive and it can ruin any student’s academic pursuit. Doubting your abilities holds you back from achieving your desired grades. You will have to dispel all thoughts that creep into your mind and believe in yourself to perform better this year.

Work smarter

Find an easy way to learn. Discover the best way to understand what you read. If you assimilate better at night, don’t try hard to study during the day. If you it is difficult to read alone, get a study group.

You can also try different methods of learning and stick to that which works for you better. You really need to find what works for you to actualize your decision to excel academically.
