English Premier League Injuries and Suspension

CHELSEA: Chelsea are again without defender David Luiz. Luiz has a knee injury, while forward Charly Musonda also has a knee problem, so neither are available as Blues boss Antonio Conte prepares to rotate his options once more. Striker Michy Batshuayi and the left-sided Kenedy have returned to training, but may not yet be in the Squad.
Provisional squad: Courtois, Caballero, Rudiger, Alonso, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Morata, Hazard, Pedro, Bakayoko, Moses, Kenedy, Zappacosta, Willian, Batshuayi, Cahill, Christensen, Azpilicueta, Clarke-Salter, Sterling, Eduardo, Ampadu.

NEWCASTLE: Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has no fresh injury problems. Defenders Paul Dummett (hamstring) and Jamaal Lascelles (foot) and winger Christian Atsu (groin) are closing in on returns, but will not feature this weekend. Benitez made five changes for Tuesday night’s 2-2 fightback draw at West Brom with Karl Darlow, Chancel Mbemba, Isaac Hayden, Mikel Merino and Ayoze Perez replacing Rob Elliot, Javier Manquillo, Jonjo Shelvey, Mohamed Diame and Dwight Gayle, but was coy when asked if he would shuffle his pack once again.

Provisional squad: Darlow, Elliot, Yedlin, Manquillo, Mbemba, Gamez, Haidara, Clark, Lejeune, Merino, Shelvey, Hayden, Saivet, Ritchie, Murphy, Aarons, Diame, Perez, Joselu, Gayle, Mitrovic.

LIVERPOOL VS. BRIGHTON

LIVERPOOL: Liverpool are set to be without Joel Matip. The defender suffered a muscle problem at the end of the midweek victory over Stoke but Ragnar Klavan is expected to have recovered from illness and could step in. Top scorer Mohamed Salah could come back into the starting line-up after scoring twice more as a substitute against the Potters but Adam Lallana (thigh) remains unavailable.

Provisional squad: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Firmino, Mane, Karius, Gomez, Robertson, Milner, Can, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Sturridge, Solanke.

BRIGHTON : Brighton expect to have left-back Gaetan Bong available again following a knee problem. Seagulls boss Chris Hughton reported no fresh injury worries after the midweek goalless draw with Crystal Palace. Midfielder Steve Sidwell remains sidelined by a back problem, but is stepping up his rehabilitation programme.

Provisional squad: Ryan, Dunk, Bong, Duffy, Bruno, Propper, Izquierdo, Stephens, Knockaert, Murray, Gross, Krul, Suttner, Schelotto, Goldson, Kayal, Brown, March, Hemed.

EVERTON VS. HUDDERSFIELD

EVERTON: Sam Allardyce takes charge of Everton for the first time with Oumar Niasse and Michael Keane available for selection. Niasse is back after becoming the first Premier League player to be banned for deceiving a referee, while Keane is fit again. Leighton Baines is not ready to join them, meaning another outing for Mason Holgate at left-back.

Provisional squad: Pickford, Robles, Williams, Jagielka, Kenny, Martina, Keane, Gueye, Davies, Baningime, Besic, Schneiderlin, Mirallas, Lennon, Lookman, Vlasic, Sigurdsson, Klaassen, Rooney, Niasse, Calvert-Lewin, Sandro.

HUDDERSFIELD: Huddersfield midfielder Kasey Palmer could return to squad after a three-month injury lay-off. Palmer, on a season-long loan from Chelsea, is back in full training after being out since September due to a recurring hamstring problem and head coach David Wagner will make a late decision on whether to involve him this weekend. Rajiv van La Parra serves the second game of his three-match ban but Wagner has no new injury worries after the midweek defeat at Arsenal. Michael Hefele (Achilles), Philip Billing (ankle) and Jon Gorenc Stankovic (knee) are still out.

Provisional squad: Lossl, Green, Malone, Cranie, Schindler, Jorgensen, Hadergjonaj, Smith, Lowe, Williams, Whitehead, Hogg, Mooy, Ince, Kachunga, Sabiri, Quaner, Depoitre, Mounie.

LEICESTER VS. BURNLEY

LEICESTER: Christian Fuchs will return after the birth of his daughter. The defender missed the 2-1 win over Tottenham on Tuesday and was replaced by Ben Chilwell but is available for Claude Puel at the King Power Stadium on Saturday. Boss Puel is without Robert Huth (ankle) and Matty James (Achilles) with Huth yet to make an appearance this season and no date set for the pair’s comeback while Adrien Silva remains unregistered until January.

Provisional squad: Schmeichel, Jakupovic, Hamer, Simpson, Fuchs, Morgan, Chilwell, Maguire, Benalouane, Dragovic, Iborra, Choudhury, Ndidi, Amartey, Gray, King, Albrighton, Mahrez, Musa, Vardy, Ulloa, Slimani, Okazaki, Iheanacho.

BURNLEY: Burnley will assess Steven Defour and Matt Lowton. Defour sustained a knock in Wednesday’s win at Brighton, a game Lowton missed due to a knee complaint. Jon Walters, Dean Marney (both knee) and Tom Heaton (shoulder) remain out and Nahki Wells is still awaiting his Clarets debut.

Provisional squad: Pope, Lindegaard, Lowton, Long, Mee, Taylor, Ward, Tarkowski, Bardsley, Defour, Brady, Hendrick, Cork, Westwood, Arfield, Gudmundsson, Vokes, Barnes, Wood, Wells.

STOKE VS. SWANSEA

STOKE: Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is expected to be fit. The forward finished the defeat to Liverpool in midweek nursing an ankle knock but Stoke boss Mark Hughes described the injury as “nothing significant” and he should retain his place in the starting line-up. Geoff Cameron will remain out despite being given the all-clear to resume training following a head injury. Jack Butland continues his recovery from a broken finger.

Provisional squad: Grant, Haugaard, Zouma, Wimmer, Shawcross, Martins Indi, Johnson, Pieters, Diouf, Edwards, Tymon, Fletcher, Allen, Adam, Afellay, Jese, Shaqiri, Choupo-Moting, Sobhi, Berahino, Crouch, Ngoy.

SWANSEA: England striker Tammy Abraham returns. The Chelsea loanee missed the midweek defeat at Stamford Bridge as he was ineligible to play against his parent club. Federico Fernandez is missing again following the death of his father, while on-loan Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches could be omitted after being substituted at half-time at Chelsea.

Provisional squad: Fabianski, Naughton, Van der Hoorn, Mawson, Olsson, Mesa, Ki, Carroll, Ayew, Bony, Abraham, Nordtfeldt, Rangel, Clucas, Britton, Sanches, Fer, Dyer, Narsingh, Fulton, Routledge, McBurnie.

WATFORD VS. TOTTENHAM

WATFORD : Watford will be without midfielder Will Hughes. The former Derby man suffered a hamstring injury in Tuesday’s defeat to Manchester United and has been ruled out by Hornets boss Marco Silva. Miguel Britos will also be missing after suffering a knock in the win over Newcastle while Younes Kaboul (hamstring), Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah and Isaac Success (all knee) remain sidelined.

CRYSTAL PALACE: Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson will hope to have the same pool of players available from those who played at Brighton in midweek. The Eagles drew 0-0 against their rivals but remained bottom of the table and Hodgson revealed Scott Dann, Jeffrey Schlupp, Yohan Cabaye and Luka Milivojevic all sat out training on Thursday. That does not mean all will miss the trip to the Hawthorns although Chung-yong Lee (ankle) and Connor Wickham (knee) are absent.

Provisional squad: Speroni, Hennessey, Ward, Fosu-Mensah, Dann, Sakho, Tomkins, Riedewald, Delaney, Schlupp, Van Aanholt, Souare, Kelly, Townsend, Lofus-Cheek, Milivojevic, Puncheon, Cabaye, McArthur, Mutch, Ladapo, Sako, Kaikai, Zaha, Benteke.

ARSENAL VS. MAN UNITED

ARSENAL: Arsenal will be without club-record signing Alexandre Lacazette. The France international was forced off at half-time in Wednesday’s 5-0 victory over Huddersfield due to a groin injury and manager Arsene Wenger has ruled him out of the game against the Red Devils. A hamstring problem also saw Alexis Sanchez substituted in the Huddersfield win but Wenger is more optimistic over his availability while Alex Iwobi (leg) could also be back in contention. Santi Cazorla (Achilles) is a long-term absentee.

Provisional squad: Cech, Ospina, Mertesacker, Holding, Koscielny, Mustafi, Chambers, Monreal, Debuchy, Bellerin, Nelson, Kolasinac, Maitland-Niles, Ramsey, Wilshere, Xhaka, Elneny, Ozil, Iwobi, Walcott, Sanchez, Welbeck, Giroud.

WEST HAM: West Ham will hand a late fitness test to defender Winston Reid. The New Zealand centre-back came off with an injury during Wednesday’s 4-0 loss at Everton and will be checked on Saturday.
