The Kashmir Files Review

The Kashmir Files is based on the atrocities and exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the Kashmir Valley. The real story of atrocities in Kashmir has been shown in this film. It depicts the brutality of Kashmiri Pandits almost three decades ago. Artists like Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty have given life to this film. This film will present the painful period of 1990 when Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their own homes. After watching the film, you will understand that it was not just an escape but a massacre.

Story

The story of the film starts from the current year. Krishna (Darshan Kumar) is studying in Delhi. He comes to Srinagar to fulfill his grandfather’s dream, Pushkar Nath Pandit (Anupam Kher). He has no idea about Kashmir’s past and sets out to discover the truth about his family. During this, he meets four of his grandfather’s friends. And then gradually, the discussion of the exodus and genocide of Kashmiri Pandits starts.

The story after this begins in 1990. It is shown in the film how terrorists roam the Streets of Kashmir with guns and find and kill Kashmiri Pandits. Terrorists with guns do not see who is in front. Whether the elderly, women, or children, those terrorists do not leave anyone. Those scenes of carnage in the film will leave you stunned from top to bottom. You cannot imagine the atmosphere of fear of that time, even in your imagination. Showing all the brutality on Kashmiri Pandits, the film also showed how the governance of the state had also become defenseless at that time.

Stars

Apart from Anupam Kher and Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Prakash Belavadi, Puneet Issar, Atul Srivastava, Chinmoy Mandlekar, Bhasha Sumbali are also seen in important roles in the film. Director Vivek Agnihotri has also primarily tried to show the suffering of Kashmiri Pandits through three characters.
