Samarth Ramdas

With time Narayan turned 12 years old. When Narayan completed 12 years, he had to get ready for marriage at his mother’s insistence. All the wedding preparations started going on. But Narayan wanted something else. When he sat on the altar, the brahmins announced a warning before marriage. Hearing this, Narayan came out of the marriage hall. Then he realized his mistake. He said, “I would not marry. I want to wake up in Maharashtra. I want to make India independent. My life is for the whole nation. I cannot bind myself in the bond of marriage”. Taking this resolution, Narayan fled from there.

After wandering many places, he reached the banks of the Godavari river. Staying on the banks of the Godavari river for years, he continued to do devotion and public awareness of God. People believe that God was pleased with his devotion. People believe that they had darshan of Lord Rama in Nashik. And since then, Narayan came to be called Samarth Ramdas.

Samarth Ramdas roamed around and started giving education and initiation to the people. Ramdas set out on a pilgrimage and travelled throughout India for 12 years. Eventually, he reached near the Himalayas. After seeing the holy environment of the Himalayas, the dispassionate feeling of Ramdas Ji, originally of disinterested nature, was awakened. He wanted to commit his self-immolation, but Lord Shri Ram ordered him to do Dharma. Then he decided to dedicate his body to Dharma.

Incident Of Ramdas

Once a sad woman on the banks of Godavari sought blessings from Ramdas. Samarth Ramdas blessed her that you will be the mother of eight sons. Hearing this, the sad woman started crying and told about her husband’s death. Ramdas went to the place where the dead body of her husband was kept. He poured water in the mouth of the dead person saying Jai Shri Raghuveer Samarth. The man immediately came to life. This incident became famous far and wide. Then after this, the glory of Samarth Ramdas started spreading all around.

Samarth Ramdas was a great man. He completed the problematic circumambulation of Godavari. He went to Pandharpur while roaming. There he performed kirtan in front of the idol of Lord Vitthal Dev, saying Jai Shri Raghuveer Samarth. At the same time, devotees and Brahmins objected to him. At that time, Lord Vitthal was compelled to appear in the form of Shri Ram. Everyone present there recognized the devotion of Samarth Ramdas as Shakti. Samarth Ramdas roamed around and saw society in the form of God. He made constant efforts to awaken society. At that time, there was a kingdom of Yavanas in India. The whole people were saddened by their atrocities. Dev temples were being destroyed.

With Chhatrapati Shivaji

Samarth Ramdas’s heart was sorrowful seeing these incidents. At the same time, he was introduced to a patriotic hero named Shivaji. Samarth Ramdev was pleased. He gave proper rituals to Shivaji. With his grace and guidance, Shivaji defeated the Mughal Empire and also established the Hindu post-Badshahi.
Once Samarth Ramdas stood in front of Shivaji Maharaj with an alms box. Asking Shivaji to give me alms, Ramdas put the alms box ahead. For a moment, Chhatrapati Shivaji kept thinking about something, then immediately he wrote something and put it in the paper cupboard. Samarth opened it and read it and said, “Hey, what? You have given all your kingdom to me. Son, I am a sannyasi; I want food, not kingdom”.
