Here´s an example of the type of pics I don´t do very often as they require a lot of human character figures which is something I have not much interest in creating (or talent for) as I preffer to focus on environments instead.
But now and then like in the case of this exciting story by Douglas Meredith about Mars for Book One of the Generation Mars series, I do need to create something like this. So I´ll go and do a mix between matte-painting and regular digital painting if I can call it that…
Anyway here´s a breakdown of how I did this one image for the book for all you guys and girls out there that enjoy seeing how an image comes togheter.
