Megalyn Echikunwoke is an American actress well-known for television series like 24, CSI: Miami where she played as Tara Price, The 4400 where she portrayed Isabelle Tyler, Like family, Law and Oder, Supernatural, American Dad, Arrowverse, Ghosted, among others. Early Life and Background

Echikunwoke was born on the 28th of May 1983 in Spokane, Washington to Anita Laurie, a mother who is of English, Irish, and German descent. Her father on the other side is a Nigerian who is of the Igbo tribe. Although she was born in Spokane, but was raised in Chinle, Arizona on a Navajo Indian Reservation. Her mother single-handedly raised her along with her three siblings on the Navajo Indian reservation in Chinle, Arizona after the death of her father.

According to her biography, her grandfather is a traditional Igbo leader, this makes her an African Loyalty. She isn’t the only child of her parents, she has three siblings namely Miki and Misty.

Career and Rise to Fame

Megalyn Echikunwoke was initially discovered in 1997 when she was just fourteen years old at a summer Art camp. Following her fantastic performance at the camp, she began auditioning for roles both through videos tapes and in person. Her search for fame came through for her in 1998 when she appeared on the TV miniseries Creature.

She gradually became a regular face on the science fiction television series The 4400, as the adult version of the mysterious Isabelle Tyler. Echikunwoke left the show in 2007. She has also appeared on the MTV soap opera, Spyder Games, as Cherish Pardee, a coffee house singer, and in Like Family as Danika. She is also a recurring face in the first season of 24 as David Palmer’s daughter, Nicole. Echikunwoke joined the cast as the new medical examiner, Dr. Tara Price in the season 7 of CSI: Miami.

Echikunwoke appeared on Fox’s That ’70s Show as Hyde’s half sister, Angie Barnett, and had a recurring role on TNT’s Raising the Bar playing the love interest of attorney Marcus McGrath, played by J. August Richards. She also played Holly in the fourth season of 90210. She played Riley Parker in the legal drama Made in Jersey on CBS and April on Showtime’s House of Lies .

Megalyn Echikunwoke has provided her voice for the character in a short animated series and appeared on the CW’s Arrow as the DC Comics superhero Vixen for an episode. Due to prior commitments, she was on ground to play the character in Legends of Tomorrow, as a result of the introduction of a new Vixen played by Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who is the time-displaced grandmother of Echikunwoke’s character. She has also portrayed the role of Claire in the off-Broadway production of Apologia, alongside Hugh Dancy and Stockard Channing, a play that ran from October 16, 2018, to December 16, 2018.

Echikunwoke is a political activist. Herself, Justin Long, Olivia Wilde, and Kal Penn campaigned for the 2008 Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama in 2017. They participated in a winter tour of college campuses and bars in Iowa, known as the All-Actor All-Iowa All-Star Voter Education Tour, to register new college-age voters prior to the 2008 election.
