Chidi Mokeme is a Nigerian actor and reality show host. He was the host of Gulder Ultimate Search Reality-show. The famous Nigerian actor is labelled as one of the most respected and celebrated in Nigeria movie industry today as a result of his massive contribution to the growth of Nollywood.

Early Life And Background

Chidi Mokeme was born on March 17, 1972. He is an indigene of Anambra State. His early ambition was to become a professional actor and when he came of age,  his passion for the field made him never searched for other profession. He officially started movie acting during his secondary school days when he used to act in secondary school stage play. He took it a bit further when he gained admission into the University and he made up his mind to launch his professional acting career .

Education

Chidi Mokeme attended Salvation Army Primary School, Surulere Lagos for his primary school education and proceeded to Federal Government College, Minna, Niger State for his secondary Education and successfully obtained his Senior secondary school leaving certificate .

After he completed his secondary school education, he got admission into Institute of Management Technology(IMT), Enugu where he graduated successfully and bagged a degree in Computer Science Higher National Diploma (HND).

Career

He initially launched his career as a model 1998 and he represented some brands like a telecommunications company called Zodaphone before he joined Nollywood Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood) in 2003. He attained massive success after anchoring the first two edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search Talent Hunt Show. He is not just an actor, he is also a television reality show host and Nollywood finest at the moment.

The handsome actor ventured into Nollywood after a brief stint in modelling and representing some telecommunications company like Zodaphone. He has featured in not less than 100 Nollywood movies which include Abuja Connection, Critical Condition, His Excellency, Fire Dancer to name a few.

The nice looking man has bagged couple of awards and earned himself some nice nominations. He has won awards like the Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in Nigeria in a Leading Role at the African Magic Viewers Choice Awards amongst others.

Chidi Mokeme got married to Jean Olumba Mokeme on 28th April 2012. The union is blessed with two beautiful children namely; Daniel and Noah Mokeme. Chidi’s wife is pharmacist and a medical doctor practicing in the United States of America where she grew up and resides presently.

They got married at Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos on Saturday, April 28, 2012. She is a Nigerian but she was born and bred in the United States.

On Sunday, May 17, 2015, he had the Child Dedication Ceremony of his son at St. Pauls’ Anglican Church, a ceremony which was conducted by one Reverend Thomas Burr.
