Uche Jombo Rodriguez who is popular known by her stage name Uche Jombo is a Nigerian actress, screenwriter and film producer who ventured into the Nigerian Movie industry (Nollywoood) in 1999 in the movie titled “Visa to hell” and since then has over 60 movies to her credit and still counting. Early Life And Background

Uche Jombo was born on December 28, 1979 was born in Abiriba, Abia State, Nigeria. She attended University of Calabar where she obtained a degree in Mathematics and statistics , she is also a graduate of Computer Programming from the Federal University of Technology Minna. Her growing up was so tough due to the fact that she was so much of a man , her mother who was a devoted christian enrolled her in a church drama group and quarterly they give the best drama student scholarship so three years out of her secondary school was paid for by the church. All the time she is always behaving a boy , it is either she is playing soccer with boys or she is climbing trees.

Before she gained recognition, she did lots of supporting roles and behind the scenes. Her becoming an actress was never about money or fame for her. Uche Jombo kick started her journey into the Nigerian movie industry in 1999 in the movie “Visa to hell”. As a screenwriter she has written and co-written several movies some of which include: “The Celebrity”, “Games Men Play”, “Girls in the Hood” & “A Time to Love”. She was given her first movie role as an actress 12 years ago, she has eventually become of the most successful Nigerian actress today. And since then, she has featured in over 60 interesting Nollywood movies. Uche started her career as an actress and script writer but got her big break in the movie industry when she featured in the movies “Ibinabo” and “Girls hostel”, with roles as die-hard-stone-cold. She later featured in the movie titled “Games Men Play”, a film she doubled as an actress and co-script writer, with her role that made her our screen darling.

She officially ventured into script writing after years of working as a Nollywood actress. She has co-wrote movies like “Girls in the hood”, “a time to love”, “games men play” and “the celebrity”. In 2012, she ventured into movie production phase with her business named “Uche Jombo Studio”. As a movie producer, she has produced such as “misplaced” , “Nollywood Hustlers”, “Holding Hope” and her latest work “Damage” which deals with the issue of domestic violence. Marriage Life

Uche Jumbo is legally married, she tied the knot with her hearthrob, Kenney Rodriguez On May 16, 2012 at a private beach wedding on the Island of Puerto Rico and they are blessed with a son named Matthew Rodriguez.

The news has been buzzing for a while that you got married in Puerto Rico last month, but you’ve been quiet about it. Why?

Because I have an exclusive publication already on that and eventually, BN would also have it. I also don’t want it to just be all over the place. The whole point was doing something that is totally unexpected.

People were busy writing what they didn’t know. I have a right to say this is the information I want out and this is the information I don’t want out. Also because it has stopped being me and now us, we have to continuously agree to how we want stuff done. I am from a different background and my partner is from a different background. We just wanted to savour the moment.
