Reciprocity in a Relationship

After you!! Forget After you. Let’s do it together.

Reciprocate is to react to a gesture or behavior by making an analogous one. The reason behind defining this simple term is that countless people, especially in this generation, don’t appear to perceive the significance of reciprocity. Whether being in a romantic Relationship or close friendship, there needs to be an evenhanded effort from both parties.

The most important part of a Reciprocal Relationship is to understand what the person wants in reciprocation. Newton’s third Law states: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This law is true in terms of relations we need to reciprocate the love and care we receive. In dating and relationships, reciprocated effort is integral for the growth of the relationship.

We say in a relationship, one partner always loves the other more — in other words, two people cannot love each other equally. No the fact is they don’t reciprocate the same amount of love and respect. Nature never allows an imbalance to prolong. Sooner or later nature will restore equilibrium even if it has to annihilate everything around it. It is imbalances that lead to problems in a relationship which then lead to the eventual fights and break ups caused when the knot of inequality is removed. For a relationship to be balanced it has to be reciprocal. The perfectly balanced relation involves the amount of effort from the sides, the small gesticulations to show involvement in each other is the key ingredient of impeccable bond. So if we accept their effort, we are equally inspired to give to them in the form they require. If we are not clear about their needs or we are not inspired to give to them in the form they require then we should not accept the effort. When two people are clear on what they want to give and what they want to receive, they have equilibrium maintained. The case of not understanding a reciprocal relationship and the danger of building views with only half the picture is the cause why many relations fail today. The beautiful role of the sacrificial, disposable man and loving, nurturing female together make a beautiful reciprocal relationship. It has to be recognized that both partners are volunteers.

No relationship works if it is not Reciprocal!!
