The doctors said the situation demanded immediate surgery to separate out the parasitic twin from the fully developed baby to save its life as the underdeveloped twin was relying on the other for food and nutrition. The baby was taken to JK Lone Hospital in Jaipur covering a journey of 300 miles.

The hospital did not charge the family for any health or surgery costs. The baby is recovering well and is being breastfed and will be discharged later this week.
