i was hoping i’d be immune to the warmth

the hourglass turned

you were hot

as radiant as the sun

the way you existed

the way that you kissed and

your touch

your lips

alive

beautiful

in the most graceful way

i plummeted to the ground

i wished you were waiting to catch me

but you weren’t

instead i sunk deep

there was no more sand
