Bejan Daruwala, India’s most popular astrologer, Is No More

Bejan Daruwala, possibly the most famous Indian astrologer, is no more. He was 89. Reports confirm that he expired due to a lung infection and pneumonia.

There’s no information about when Bejan started his predictions but plenty reports that he predicted several important Indian incidents. Some of the most important were the death of Sanjay Gandhi, the Indira Gandhi assassination and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

One of the greatest achievements of Daruwala was to bring astrology and predictions out of the newspapers. He made it a commercially viable business. He was the reliable and knowledgable face for a whole new generation in India, which was gearing up to conquer new heights in the post globalisation world.

His yearly predictions books were a common feature in most Indian houses in the eighties and the nineties. He was also one of the few astrologers to set up a website and provide online predictions for various sunsigns and other services related to astrology. He won accolades from all over the world. His website has a list of people he has interacted with, and its a veritable who’s who of India.   You can check out his website here.  RIP, Mr. Daruwala and thank you for the memories.

Bejan Daruwala was born in 1931 and has had an illustrious career and he is one of the few astrologers to have won accolades in the western world as well. Bejan featured on several National and International programs, talking about astrology and predictions. Many people would know Bejan as the man who wears colorful clothes and who’s an astrologer. His penchant for bright, full colored clothes was a stuff of legend among journalist circles.
