Ladak Diaries | Ep 1 Sheep Girl - Pashmina
The woman alchemist from Ladakh shares a true insight into the hard life and livelihood at the 'Roof of the World'.
We journeyed into Chang La, bumped into the traditional nomads,
TheChang Pa, are the indigenous shepherds of Ladakh.
The shephardess  from the 'Roof of the World' gave us a glimpse into the story behind the Pashmina Industry.
They rear, boil and treat Pashmina wool and hand it over. Without their treatment, Pashmina wouldn't survive. It would just wither away.
Majestic, gleaming coats are reared...
Herds of goats. in thousands...
One of the most luxurious fabric is sold at the cost of potatoes. LITERALLY.
And what do they gain? Just basic amenities for survival in the harsh winters.
The standard much below in comparison to the rate at which Pashmina wool is sold in the global markets.
Let's awaken the youth through more such true stories,
Lets make Ladakh a real awakened paradise,
Lets give birth to sustainable tourism at the 'Roof of the World'.
Lets understand#ladakhforreal
