How I draw Anime eyes

Tags: eye boy girls eye

I’m not writing it as how to because there’s many ways to get this done. Everyone has their own ways of doing things and this is my method.

I’m going to give tutorials on a male and a female eyes since most of the time they differ.

Firstly, I start by drawing the base of the eye.

As you can see from the picture, the Girls Eye is quite big and the boys is more wide but smaller.

After I’ve drawn the base, I volumise the females eye.

Male eyes tend to not have eyelashes. It’s just some anime rule When they do have eyelashes, they look more feminine which I find cute

After doing that, I add the pupils of the eye because that’s important.

For the girls eye, I left a small gap when drawing the inner circle. This is because that’s where the shine for the eye will be seen. The boys one doesn’t have it because he will have a different colour eye to the girl.

See, the difference from now is impacted by what colour I decide to make their eyes. The boys will be black and I don’t want to add any shine to it.

Once I’ve drawn the inner circle, I add the eyelids.

Can’t forget them. Anime characters do blink after all

And, after that’s done, the next step is donthe shading of the eye.

You can already see a difference between the eyes.

I have to repeat, the reason why there is a difference is because of what I plan to make the eye colour.

For the girl, I start with a small circle in the centre. That’s her pupil. That’s a weird c next to her pupil because that’s supposed to be light being reflected in the eye.

The boy has a darker shade from the top part of his eye because most of the time, the top of the eye is darker than the bottom. Therefore, I started his eye like that.

Once that’s done, I fill in the rest of the eye. I darkened centre of the boys eye because of his pupil.

The final piece is quite lazy but, I’ll do a post on colouring the eyes using my laptop to do a digital skecth.
