Here’s why Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur was shot in 13 locations

The teaser for Meghna Gulzar’s biographical drama Sam Bahadur, which was published earlier on October 13, has caused quite a stir among the public. Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the film, which will see actor Vicky Kaushal fully inhabiting the role of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. It has been revealed that the movie was shot in 13 distinct locales around India, which is an eye-opening detail.

Sam Bahadur was filmed in thirteen different locations in India, including Mumbai, Pahalgam, Srinagar, Jodhpur, Delhi, Pataudi, Pinjore/Chandigarh, Kolkata, Ooty, Coonoor, Patiala, Dehradun, and Lonavala/Pune, according to a recent report by ETimes.

The story delves deeper into the reasons for the wide variety of filming locales. Vicky Kaushal plays Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the movie. It was allegedly done to make sure that every second of the Field Marshal’s life was documented. It’s also said that emphasising his involvement to the Five Wars was a factor in the shooting sites selection.

Star cast of Sam Bahadur along with director Meghna Gulzar

Alongside Kaushal, the film, which was penned by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the RSVP Movies banner, also stars Sanya Malhotra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Neeraj Kabi, and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The film, which was first announced in 2021 on the 107th anniversary of Sam Manekshaw’s birth, is Vicky and Meghna’s second joint venture following 2018’s Alia Bhatt-starring Raazi.
