Amazon Prime shows worth the try: Horror edition

In need of some real nightmare stoke? The spooky season is arrived, and Prime Video is filled with terrific Horror films ready to frighten you to death. Here are the selections for the top horror films available on Prime Video right now.

Nope (2022)

OJ and Emerald Haywood, a brother and sister team fighting to maintain their family’s horse ranch, are played by Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer with flawless sibling enthusiasm. OJ sees his father die in the beginning of the film when a penny becomes stuck in his head. The two see something terrible lurking in the clouds, and things only get crazier from there.

Smile (2022)

When Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) sees a brutal patient suicide, everyone around her begin to exhibit a highly unsettling rictus smile, which is invariably a sign of impending death. In order to escape her terrifying new reality, Rose must confront her previous traumas as the distinction between what is real and what is just in her brain becomes increasingly hazy.

Train to Busan (2016)

Seok-woo, played by Gong Yoo, is a parent attempting to safeguard his daughter in the middle of the mayhem who is still working out his feelings for his ex-wife, whose whereabouts are still unknown in Busan. Fans of zombie films must watch Train to Busan.

 The Black Phone (2022)

Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King, wrote the book on which The Black Phone is based. Everything comes together to create a strong, classic horror film that will have you rooting for the heroes the entire time.

Let the Right One In (2008)

The narrative centres on 12-year-old Oskar (Kre Hedebrant), a sensitive and mistreated child who lives with his mother in a suburban area of Sweden. Eli (Lina Leandersson), a mystery next-door neighbour who appears to be his age, and he forge a difficult bond after Eli moves in.

Saw (2004)

Leigh Whannell as photographer Adam and Cary Elwes as doctor Lawrence Gordon awaken shackled to pipes in an outdated toilet with no memory of how they got there. The series’ main character is the Jigsaw murderer, a serial murderer who uses gory (and sometimes fatal) games to test his victims’ ability to live. Many turns and turns follow as Adam and Lawrence try to figure out why they could have been the target.

The Wailing (2016)

The movie, which is set in a remote South Korean hamlet in the mountains, centres on Jong-goo (Kwak Do-won), a clueless police officer who becomes involved in the world of demons and spirits while trying to solve a succession of horrific murders. Each murder is carried out by a frightened criminal suffering from a terrible rash, and when he awakens to see his daughter suffering from the same symptom, his life quickly spirals out of control as he urgently attempts to determine the cause of the epidemic.
