Tamil actor and comedian RS Shivaji passes away at 66

RS Shivaji, a comedian, allegedly passed away on Saturday as a result of health issues. He was 66. RS Shivani, who has roles in more than a hundred Tamil films, was good friends with Kamal Haasan.

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala shared the news of his passing on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing, “Popular Tamil Character/Comedy Actor #RSShivaji passed away in Chennai this morning.. He acted in this Friday release #LuckyMan and has done several memorable roles including #ApoorvaSagodharargal etc May his soul RIP!”

Son of actor-producer MR Santhanam, RS Shivaji. In the four decades after his cinematic debut in the 1980s, he has produced a number of blockbuster pictures. He appeared in various films and was well-known for his friendship with Kamal Haasan. Vikram, Satya, Apoorva Sagodaragal, Michael Madana Kamaraju, Guna, Chachi 420, and Anbeshivam are some of his finest works. These films have all also been dubbed into Telugu.

Later, he made his Telugu film debut in Jagadekaveeru Athiloka Sundari, starring Chiranjeevi. RS Shivaji portrayed a constable in the movie. In addition to this, Teja’s 1000 Abaddalu included him as well. Sai Pallavi’s Gargi and Vattakara, his most recent two releases.

Shivaji appeared in a number of TV series, including Vallamai Tharayo, Anbulla Snehidhiye, Ethanai Konam Ethanai Paarvai, and Kula Vilakku. He played the protagonist character in the online serial Time Enna Baas.
