This might, shock you, but actress Kangana Ranaut has decided to sue a leading magazine after they invited her to their awards night. They invited her to award for Thalaivii. According to them, the invitation was an effort to “bring together everyone in a collective celebration of what brings this nation together i.e. Indian Cinema”.

However, they have now decided to withdraw her name from the nominations. Calling her allegations ‘false’ In a long statement, the magazine wrote. “This is a patently false accusation being made by Ms. Ranaut. Our invitation to her was our effort in bringing together everyone in a collective celebration of what brings this nation together, i.e. Indian Cinema. Filmfare Awards are a celebration of cinematic excellence and are awarded irrespective of the fact that a nominee attends or performs at the function. Further, Ms. Ranaut, a 5-time Filmfare Awardee was given the award twice in absentia (2014 & 2015). Despite knowing that she would neither attend nor perform.”

Soon after this, the Queen actress was quick to respond and she also penned down a note on her social media platform that reads “@filmfare has finally withdrawn my best actress nominations, thanks to everyone who supported me in this fight against the corrupt system but this doesn’t stop me from taking legal action against them…my endeavor is to put an end to these unethical practices and stop such malicious award shows…see you in court @filmfare.”

She further said “I’ve banned unethical, corrupt, and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me an award for Thalaivii… I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics, and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in any way, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare … thanks,”

Let us tell you that Kangana played the leading role in the film Thalaivii. And she is nominated for Best Actress this year. The film stars Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, Parineeti Chopra, Taapsee Pannu, and Vidya Balan. Not just Kangana but also Raj Arjun who is her co-star has also been nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category. Whereas Neeta Lulla and Deepali Noor are nominated in the Best Costume Design category.
