After doing a couple of web-shows, Nishant Pandey wants to get back to television. In a candid chat, the actor affirmed that he is a greedy actor, and wants to play a variety of roles. He also expressed his desire to play a dark character.

“With the rise in the popularity of OTT platforms, the web-series have seen quite a boom in the last few years. As an actor you get ample opportunities in the digital medium to explore the craft by doing a variety of shows in different genres. That’s why after doing a couple of TV shows, I switched to digital platforms. But now I want to make a comeback on small screen,” Nishant said.

He started his career with Khwabon Ke Darmiyaan, later, he went on to feature in various shows like Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Zindagi Wins, Love By Chance, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Gumrah.

Spilling the beans on his upcoming projects, Nishant said, “I recently shot a dark drama thriller web series. Prior to the pandemic, I had also shot for an international project. Covid caused a delay, and currently the post-production is going on.”

Talking about the kind of roles he is looking forward to, the actor says, “I am passionate about my craft, that’s why when it comes to acting, I am a bit more greedy. I would love to explore characters with multiple layers in different mediums. If given an opportunity I want to play a dark role. I am fascinated by Joaquin Phoenix’s character in Joker. And I would love to play a role in the lines of Shahid Kapoor’s character in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Kaminey or Anurag Kashyap’s Raman Raghav. But at the same time I don’t want to restrict myself to a dark genre. I am ready to play a chocolaty boy next door or a knight in a historical drama.”
