Remember the film Anjaam? It starred the actors Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit. One of the memorable roles of the film was jail warden’s role played by Kalpana Iyer. Kalpana was last seen in the 1999 film Hum Sath Sath Hain. She has been 80s hit item girl.

She also played the role of a vamp on the silver screen. She is now settled in Dubai and runs a restaurant there. Kalpana was the ex-girlfriend of Sholay’s legendary Villain Gabbar Singh aka Amjad Khan. They were in a relationship until Amjad Khan’s death. After his death, she vowed to Remain Unmarried.

Today she is 63 and is still single. On being single, she said in an interview,

“Why am I unmarried? There are some questions which I can’t answer. Probably I never wanted to get married or I was not made for marriage.”

Kalpana Iyer (born 17 April 1955) is a former Miss India. After being first runner-up at Miss India in 1978, she went on to represent her country at the Miss World 1978 beauty pageant where she placed as a top 15 semi-finalist.

She was known for having a unique western look, hence the reason why she got vamp roles. She was the hottest vamp of Bollywood.
