(1916 - 2005)
death comes for all regardless of age, sex or race.
i will never be able to Speak for her children, but i can speak with the voice of one of her grandchildren. She was inspiration - a life passed in the pursuit of Beauty and understanding. her work reflects this, but with the light that streamed from her own eyes, not our own. her painting is pure motion and energy. it is light that penetrates without leaving any mass, just and awareness of a journey taken. in this photo, she is surrounded by a sea of colour; what one cannot know without having been with her is the power of the land that surrounded her. this photo can give no idea of the sound and smell that was omnipresent. for a young boy, this was Merlin's Forest... this was the stuff of myth.
she is gone, and i miss her. she lived to know of my marriage with Marie and the birth of her great-granddaughter, Lune.
I love you Nana, rest now, in peace.
