Social Media and The East End

As the holidays have more than crept up on us, I wanted to bring up social media. You see, social media is not so much about selling a product or promoting a service, it’s more about engagement, getting to know your community. And in doing so, you may pick up a prospect along the way. I don’t really believe in the 10% business/90% social commentary on venues like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram etc. It’s more like: just be yourself. If you want to sell, then sell. If you want to post kitten videos, go for it.

But one thing that can’t be ignored. It boosts your Google search results for your desired keyword faster than anything else I know. Now that’s easy marketing. So the more kitten videos you post that link back to your company’s URL, the better.

I love bragging about my clients, whom are so passionate about what they do. It’s amazing to see how they bravely jump into the digital social world… Take Badilla Painters. We set up their twitter and Facebook accounts, and they’re getting a feel for what these new relationships can do for them. Whether it gets them a client or not isn’t really the point. The point is that they are part of the community, part of the East End, and subliminally it may suggest that using someone local to paint and finish your home might be a wiser choice because they know ahead of time what works for, say, cedar shingled homes and what trends might be hot in the Hamptons.

Happy Holidays!
