Two years ago I purchased a wreck of a property - a 3-bed semi, with a large enough front garden to park two cars in comfortably and a large back garden with plenty of room to extend the house if required. Since then, I've been slowing renovating, which has included replacing large sections of plumbing, wiring, new ceilings/floors, re-plastering, lighting, flooring, etc.
So far I've done all of the work myself, with significant assistance from my wife, and have only used a plumber for gas plumbing work. As you might imagine, I've had to learn a lot of new skills in the process and figured that a blog would be the perfect place to post some of my experiences for others to learn from.
