End Of Summer Views
In Our East Hampton Garden,
With Thoughts On
Digging In The Soil

September is one of my favorite months. To me, it's one of the undervalued times of the year as the first few weeks in the East Coast are sometimes the most beautiful sunny days of the year.

You may have followed my posts, Instagrams and May tik tok, June tik tok and July tik tok, as we prepared our garden and yard with a new fence, new landscaping and new flower garden to take back our property from the deer (which over the years had completely been taken over).  Our pool was even ruined and had to be replaced with deer falling into our pool years back. We do have a problem in the East End of Long Island as the poor deer have less and less places to roam freely, so I understand this struggle.

Truth be told, it had to be done, and once the new 8' fence was erected, we headed to the garden shop to plant brand new hydrangeas and flower beds in our yard.  Armed with a new vigor to make it look pretty, and lush we were hopeful about our summer garden.  Now, with summer winding down, all our hard work has come to roost.  We held a beautiful garden party in our yard as a celebration of our daughter's new engagement and plans to wed.

It is a little sad to see that this beautiful garden will soon wane as we fade into fall, so I am happy to share views from our September garden.  This week it is in full bloom- The garden seems to scream, “ look at me with the multi-colored blooms, the pool in sparkling regalia and the grass a deep shade of green”.  I hope you have had some toiling in the soil this summer, even if in some clay pots like I do every year. It makes us feel closer to the earth to grow.

Happy End of Summer, XO Tamara
