A Pixar Movie Inspired House Where Light, Space And Nature Converge

Imaginatively drawn from the heartfelt narratives of Pixar’s “Coco,” architect Duy Le crafts more than a home; he sculpts a realm where the lines between reality and reflection gracefully blur. In Vietnam’s bustling urban canvas, this 142 sqm abode emerges as a sanctuary, celebrating both familial connections and a profound communion with Nature. Through ingenious use of glassy textures and wave-like facades, Duy Le achieves an expansive sensation within a modest 4.6m width, creating infinite views that echo the boundlessness of the afterlife portrayed in the film. Here, light dances through ventilation bricks, nature thrives alongside daily life, and every angle offers a new story, a fresh perspective.

As you step into the threshold of the house a serene tapestry of lush greenery and vibrant blooms greets you, embodying the warm embrace of nature. Duy Le masterfully shapes the entrance with a curved façade of Glass Bricks, mimicking gentle waves while inviting soft natural light to filter through, creating a dance of shadows and illumination.

An Indoor courtyard, graced with a koi pond and enveloped by the lush embrace of tropical plants, becomes a sanctuary of calm. Above, glass bricks form a translucent ceiling, casting a kaleidoscope of light that shifts with the day, breathing life into the space.

Wood meets water, greenery drapes over concrete, and each step across the floating staircase is a reminder of the fluid boundary between home and nature, a symphony of elements that resonates with the vibrancy of a connected family life.

The living space doubles up as a reflective retreat, where the murmur of water and the rustle of leaves offer a soothing backdrop to daily life.

A streamlined kitchen in wood and white hues opens up to an airy dining area, where the family can gather under a geometric skylight that showers the space with daylight. The integration of indoor greenery and a restful hammock bridge the gap between nourishment and relaxation, crafting a seamless transition from mealtime to me-time. Perched above the indoor pond, a boat-shaped lounge beckons for moments of repose in Duy Le’s vision, surrounded by a verdant tapestry of indoor plants. This nook, a homage to the Vietnamese tradition of living harmoniously with water, offers a picturesque vantage point for the home’s aquatic inhabitants, blurring the lines between interior and landscape.
