Let the Sunshine In

{A Moment in the Room I Designed for the 2019 Kips Bay Showhouse}

It feels like the color Yellow is having a moment. I noticed some stunning yellow designs on the runways during the latest couture shows as well as in a few of the Fall/Winter shows as Fashion Week kicks off in New York. The funny thing about yellow is that it is a color I rarely wear or decorate with, but every time I see it in just the right hue, it makes me so happy and I am reminded of how much I love it. I think most of us, myself included, have typically thought of yellow as more of an accent color, but it pairs beautifully with so many other colors. It also serves to energize a space in a very unique way.

Chris Martin of Coldplay wrote a song called “Yellow” and Sasha Adler of Nate Berkus associates has proclaimed “yellow goes with almost anything in my world”. Beautiful though possibly polarizing, I am totally loving bright, saturated shades of yellow. Are you a fan of yellow? Ask yourself again at the end of this post. You may just change your mind.
