Dallas is the America’s Eco city of the Future

These days, Texas is hitting new milestones in the renewable energy sector. Between Solar panel installations in Dallas and new wind-power projects, Texas expects to meet more than half of its total needs with renewable energies by 2020. While some other states are at a crossroad, Texas’ renewable resources are speeding up on a highway. And that’s not all; they are hitting it hard in creating a new solar workforce, lower harmful pollution and save precious water supplies.

The rise of wind power

Texas officials and business leaders have recognized the vast number of opportunities of the wind sector and position the state to grow its economy from clean energy. The goals that were set in 2005 have already been fulfilled and surpassed. For Texas citizens, this means getting a low-down on their electricity bills and new job opportunities. Currently, the Lone Star State is the largest wind producer in the country, three times more than any other state. It has become a powerful wind generator producing more power from wind turbines than from hydroelectric dams. “It’s now taken off to the point where if you’re just doing the math, you would conclude that wind makes sense because it’s just a cheaper resource,” said Sargent Corporation officials.

Great time for investment, right? Now, let’s talk numbers:

• For the 12-month period, wind energy provided nearly 13 percent of all in-state electricity production, which powered 4.1 million homes.
• In the same period, wind power broke several records by providing almost fifty percent of the electricity for roughly 14 hours straight.
• In 2017, wind power capacities reached more than 20,000 megawatts —double of the capacity the next state, Oklahoma — surpassing coal production and accounting for 17 percent of ERCOT’s power. By 2020, wind capacity is expected to hit nearly 30,000 megawatts, and, to be honest, more wind capacity than most countries have.
• The wind energy industry in Texas has provided nearly $33 billion in capital investment and is home to at least 38 manufacturing facilities, including tower manufacturers and numerous component suppliers.
• In July 2008, utility officials gave preliminary approval to a $4.9 billion plan to support new transmission lines. One of its main goals is to carry wind-generated electricity from West Texas to urban areas such as Dallas. With the solar panel companies, Dallas is set to become one of the leading cities in the renewable energy sector.

However, these wind project achievements are coupled with the progress that some of the best solar companies in Texas have accomplished. These thriving new industries will continue to bring economic benefits as capacity grows.

A solar paradise for solar panel installers – Dallas

As a resident of Texas, you have a myriad of options to master your savings. But it’s not just saving the money; it’s about managing the amount you earn each month in the most profitable way. Solar is set to become the cheapest power source on Earth in a handful of years. As more and more Texas solar panel companies (and future solar All-stars) expand, the cost per unit of energy drops. In the end, this means lowering your electricity bills to zero.

The number of the top best solar companies in Texas is growing and keeping up with other U.S. states. Currently, The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, which oversees 90 percent of the state’s grid, expects to solar power capacity to reach about 2,000 megawatts by the end of 2018, up from 1,100 megawatts last year. And they are about to reach 3,000 megawatts by 2020. (Just for the record, one megawatt is enough to power 200 homes on a hot Texas day.)

To take an obvious example, let’s mention Dallas. The solar panel installers in Dallas are currently experiencing the second greatest percentage growth of solar energy in the state. And they are just beginning to tap into solar economic potential. According to the report published by Shining Cities, Dallas went from 12 megawatts (MW) of solar installed in 2016 to 16.4 MW in 2017, the second greatest percentage growth after San Antonio’s 37% increase.

“Dallas is leading the way to a future powered by clean, renewable energy,” said Luke Metzger, Executive Director of Environment Texas Research and Policy Center. “By tapping into more of our vast solar energy potential, we can benefit from cleaner air and fight climate change.”

So far, solar panels have produced electricity when Texas needs it most. The additional amount of electricity could moderate price spikes during the period of peak demand, which, in the end, would be the best solution for consumers. To make things simple, even though the impetus sometimes comes from the government, the ultimate benefits are cost savings for the consumers, i.e. ordinary citizens who recognized the potential of solar panel companies in Dallas. Smart choices now will mean lower risks, greater energy security, and strong environmental and economic benefits. So let’s invest in the sun and watch it pay us back.
