96 Per Cent Of Australians Support Renewable Energy As Per Climate Institute Survey

Despite Australia’s contemporary reliance on coal Energy, the advent of Renewable Energy has more and more Aussies are embracing the necessary shift to renewable energy, according to a recent survey reported by Yahoo! Australia. This is based on a recently released survey conducted by the Climate Institute. The survey asked a sample size consisting of 2660 Australians regarding the country’s future energy mix, and 96 per cent of them wanted the country’s future energy mix to be led by renewable energy. Then, 70 per cent of the respondents answered to shut down coal-fired power plants in an orderly way and shift to renewable energy sources. In terms of the price hike on electricity bills, 55 per cent blamed it on privatisation of energy, while 44 per cent and a third of the people blamed it on poor policy making and excessive gas exports, respectively. Australia has a lot of renewable energy resources to tap and, as the CSIRO said during the Senate select committee into the “resilience of electricity infrastructure in a warming world,” there is no reason for the country not to power the country using renewable energy alone.
