College life can be fun but it’s also depressing at times. Academic students are continuously under the duress of many stressors, including demanding college deadlines, intensive exam stress, overcritical teachers, time management, juggling obligations to their families and possible contingencies of the daily grind. Done in a routine following are some tested activities that are extremely helpful in fighting the pressures of college. Connect Your Body To Your Mind Taking care of yourself reinforces both your physical and mental health. It is often assumed that the mind and the body are different entities; both works separately. However, the truth is, they both work more effectively when you connect them. This connection can be made by utilizing the power of exercise. Daily exercise curtails the stress, and you start feeling well. So, the next time you are stressed about an exam, know that it is the best time for a workout. Because after you have burnt up all the stress hormones in physical exercise, you will be able to understand and deal with your studies stress free. And you may even perform much better in your exam than you’d expect. Self-Talk Self-talk may sound a bit eccentric, but, in nature, it is not. On the contrary, it is one of the best-recognized therapies for self-healing. Take some time out for yourself, ask yourself questions, tell jokes, make yourself laugh, buys yourself gifts, and treat yourself well. There is a reason why ‘retail therapy’ exists. Because it brings remarkable joy oneself; it makes you optimistic. Liberating yourself from stress through self-talk will help enhance your analytical and problem-solving skill as well since you are intentionally or reflecting and working your way out. Make it a part of your routine and soon you will be able to deal with the daily grind and college would not seem like the biggest problem on earth.  Acquaint Your Mind With Books As cliché as it sounds, you will be surprised to see how much reading can contribute to your thinking process, boost your mental abilities and so forth. Start by, first, digging out your interest, whether politics, sports, fiction, history, religion, literature, travel, or Sci-fi. Leave the book if it bores you on the first page and pick another and another until you find the right fix for yourself. Once you become absorbed in it, hunt for more relevant books and dedicate a few minutes of your daily routine to reading. So much of research has proved that reading six pages a day of a book is best known as a stress reducing habit. Being a college student surrounded by ample of literature, it shouldn’t be that difficult. Eat Well  The ultimate survivors of Covid were proved to have possessed a robust immune system. Eating well does help in more ways than we can imagine. Nutritious food not only makes your body healthy, it stabilizers your moods and keep you alert the whole day. Such food includes Whole grains, seafood, beans, nuts (almonds, cashews and peanuts), yoghurt, herbal tea, dark chocolate, banana and so on. Add these things to your daily meal portions, and ultimately, you will experience calming effect on your body and your mind. Take it as an assignment to avoid greasy and sugary food. Sleep Well Along with better eating, do not forget to sleep well too. Teens and Tweens must sleep for 8 to 10 hours a day. And the best way to sleep fully is by solving all your problems before going to bed. Your bed is not a research laboratory for your problems; the more you think before sleeping the harder your brain works, and the more tired you feel even after a long nap. During your exams/test days, try not to study right before sleeping. Sleeping boosts your immune system and helps your body and mind to heal. Hence a disturbed sleep causes exhaustion, leading to cognitive, memory, and performance deficits.Your mood is always grumpy, so is your skins and metabolism. Maintaining a self-care routine as a college student is becoming important day by day for academic and future professional success and in this the significance of mental and physical exercises plays a critical role. Because securing your future should not entail ignoring yourself.
