The Migratory birds do fly in search of food and to find better living conditions or habitats and many species of birds do migrate every year. This process is natural and necessary for our ecosystem as giant birds contribute much in balancing nature while this also carries mortality, which caused by the power and transmission lines. This has been very crucial about the decline in the number of migratory birds as we lose almost millions of critically endangered birds every year. In India the most endangered giant is Great Indian Bustard (GIB) which is on the verge of extinction. However, Supreme Court of India has stepped up and ordered to protect Great Indian Bustards from the threat created by transmission and power lines. A bench of senior judges would examine whether overhead power cables can be replaced with underground cables to prevent giant birds from collision with them. This process is gradual and very expensive hence court has found another mechanism which is installation of Bird Flight Diverter in power lines. This is an inexpensive solution and can be easily installed with the help hot-stick, drone and self driven trolley. Actually migratory birds are huge in size and they have lower frontal visual and heavy weight which makes their flight difficult to change thus this leads to mortal collisions with power lines which causes fatality among them. To protect them from this threat a Bird Diverter! is very effective. It sways dangles and rotates with the help of wind and this makes it attract giant bird’s attention so that they can change their flight path and avoid electrocution.
