Gino Wijnaldum pulled his Hamstring playing for the Netherlands against France and went off after 60 minutes making him a major doubt for Liverpool's clash with Man Utd next Monday evening.
This will be a blow to Jurgen Klopp's Reds as the former Newcastle player has been an ever-present in the Liverpool midfield this season and his presence will be missed against Mourinho's side at Anfield.
Wijnaldum is to have a scan at Melwood on Wednesday to discover the extent of the damage to his right hamstring:
"It's tough to say because I never had a hamstring injury before. So I don't know (how bad it is)," he said.
"I will travel back to the club where I will receive treatment. Then we will see how bad it is."
The Dutch international is doubtful for the eagerly-awaited Premier League clash with United at Anfield.
