Medical Collections Specialist
Our Dallas client is looking for a Medical Collections Specialist to join their team on a contract to possible hire basis.

Medical Collections Specialist Role:
Process claims by working with insurance companies to follow up on outstanding insurance balances, appeals and denials as well as make corrections and resubmit to meet and maintain system standards.
Manage at least 35 accounts per day, as assigned.
Manage Aged Trial Balances and work with the Business Operations Manager as this report changes.
Maintain communications with the Health Information Management Department to expedite issues as needed.  
Process reimbursement calculations and work with patients and insurance to resolve balances as soon as possible.

Medical Collections Specialist Background Profile:
2+ years of experience in office billing and collections and/or accounting/finance experience
HS diploma or equivalent
Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Thorough knowledge of CPT, ICD-9/10, CDT Codes, as well as medical claim forms
The ability to work between multiple patient accounting and billing programs.
Ability to calculate reimbursements per payer contracts.
Interface with insurance staff, HIM, and Access Service Staff.
A high degree of attention to detail
