Insurance Verification Specialist
Our client, located in West Houston, TX, is in immediate need of an Insurance Verification Specialist for a Direct Hire opportunity.

Your Role:
Welcome and greet all patents and visitors over the phone and in person
Obtain patient insurance verification and authorization prior to the scheduled exam date and time. 
Establish and maintain all verification records for audit purposes
Responsible for verification of patient insurance eligibility daily. 
Obtain any required clinical history from referring physician in order to obtain authorization. 
All eligibility, authorization, and determination of benefits information obtained are to be documented appropriately in the patient’ s medical records
Communicate with patients and/or referring physicians on non-covered benefits or exam coverage issues. 
Provide assistance to Clinic Staff, Scheduling Staff, and other appropriate Departments regarding Authorization and Eligibility. 
Stay informed; establish method and communicate any updates and/or changes in Payor authorization requirements. 
Participate in Billing, Eligibility and front desk meetings as needed. 
Keep the receptionist area clean and organized
Register new patients and update their demographic information by collecting detailed patient information 
Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff

Background Profile:
High school diploma
Previous Medical front desk experience would be ideal
MUST have strong verification experience
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred, but not required
Experience getting precertification and prior authorization with HMO’ s is very helpful
MUST have great phone skills and be able to show up on time each day
MUST have own scrubs (black, blue or gray)
